Woxsen University Strengthens India-Japan Ties

Woxsen University, in partnership with Indobox Inc. and Na Ra Japan Hub, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost educational and industry ties between India and Japan. The collaboration aims to create opportunities for students from both countries to engage in cross-cultural learning, internships, and career development, particularly in sectors involving Japanese businesses and management practices. This strategic move is expected to foster stronger academic and industry relations between the two nations.
Japanese Language Centre to be Established at Woxsen
One of the key initiatives under this partnership is the establishment of a Japanese language centre at Woxsen University. The centre will offer various language courses, including conversational Japanese and preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT N5/N4). This will enable students to improve their language skills and cultural understanding, which is crucial for gaining opportunities in Japanese companies and for future employment in Japan.
Focus on Cross-Cultural Exchange and Industry Collaboration
According to Dr. Raul V. Rodriguez, Vice President at Woxsen University, this partnership will significantly enhance cultural exchange and academic collaboration between India and Japan. He highlighted that Woxsen University’s global education initiatives, combined with the expertise of Indobox Inc. and Na Ra Japan Hub, would help elevate the university’s reputation internationally. Furthermore, the collaboration will offer internships, student exchanges, and insights into Japanese work ethics, which are highly valued by companies globally.
The partnership also aims to organize annual Japanese cultural events, giving students first-hand experience of Japan’s rich heritage. As per recent reports, there are currently 1,400 Japanese companies in India, with both nations aiming to increase this number, alongside investment targets of ¥5 trillion (USD 42 billion) by 2027.
