NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for Undergraduate courses in 2025 (NEET UG 2025) will be held in a single shift on a single day, in Pen and Paper mode (OMR-based).
In November 2024, the Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan hinted that NEET-UG would become a computer-based test (CBT), shifting from the traditional paper-based format. However, now, the NTA has confirmed that the NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
“As decided by the National Medical Commission(NMC), the NEET-UG shall be conducted in Pen and paper mode (OMR based) in a single day and shift,” a senior National Testing Agency (NTA) official said, reported PTI.
The proposal to switch NEET to a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode is not new and has been discussed multiple times in the past. The push to conduct Computer Based Tests (CBT) gained momentum after the paper leak controversy last year.
