SSC JHT 2019: Application Form available till 26 September

The Staff Selection Commission conducts an open computer-based examination for the combined recruitment of SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator), Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Hindi Pradhyapak. Every year SSC recruit appropriate candidates for Junior Hindi Translator in various Governmental departments. This year SSC releases the JHT Application Form on August 27, 2019. Those candidates who have applied for SSC JHT 2019 will be hired under Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts. SSC online notification will be released for JHT post.

The candidate has to participate in two papers. Paper I is a computer-based exam and Paper II is a descriptive type. Here are the important dates related to the SSC Junior Hindi Translation examination.

SSC JHT Vacancy Details 2019

SSC will notify the number of vacancies of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, Hindi Pradhyapak.

The candidates will work in various departments like Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS), M/o Railways (Railway Board), Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ), Subordinate Offices, Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI).

The selected candidate will get Level 6/ Level 7/ Level 8 pay scale according to their post and department. You can see the salary status in the given table below:

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2019

In order to apply for SSC JHT, the candidate must complete all the eligibility criteria. Here are the eligibility criteria below:

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be either:

  • A citizen of India or
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India. Or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age limit as on 01/01/2020

  • Candidate should not be more than 30 years old.

Education Qualification

For postcodes ‘A’ to ‘D’

  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as an elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in English with Hindi as an elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject.
  • Candidate must have a recognized Diploma or Certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa and two-year’s experience of Hindi to English translation and vice-versa.

For postcode ‘E’ (Senior Hindi Translator)

  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as an elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in English with Hindi as an elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. OR
  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject.
  • Candidate must have a recognized Diploma or Certificate in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa and three year’s experience of Hindi to English translation and vice-versa.

For postcode ‘F’ (Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT)

  • Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as an elective subject. OR
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as the main subject.

For postcode ‘G’ (Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus a Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional from a recognized University or Institute plus Bachelor of Education from a recognized University/ Institute.
  • Two years experience of teaching Hindi at Senior Secondary level under Central or State Governments or recognized educational Institutions.

SSC JHT Application Form 2019

SSC JHT Application Form 2019 has been available on the official website www.ssc.nic.in. The Application Form will available on August 27, 2019. Eligible candidates can fill the application before the last date of recruitment ie September 26, 2019. Candidates have to submit the application fee to complete the application process.

How to apply for SSC JHT 2019?

Candidates can fill their applications by following the simple steps we have explained:

  1. The candidate must first go to the official website i.e ssc.nic.in.
  2. The candidate will have to register once on the official website.
  3. After that, the candidate will have to pay the application fee through the net banking /cash card/Walles, debit card/credit card, etc.
  4. You need to apply a scanned photograph & signature.
  5. Now you are ready to apply & submit your form.
  6. Take the print out of your online form for future reference.

SSC JHT Admit Card 2019

Staff Selection Commission will issue the admit card for those candidates who have filled the application form with the application fee before the last date. SSC JHT Admit Card 2019 will be available on the official website of SSC. Candidates will be able to download Admit Card from October / November 2019.

SSC JHT Examination and Selection Process

The candidate has to clear two Papers for the selection. After that process candidate will be called for Document Verification process. Here you can see the exam pattern of both papers:

Paper I

  1. Question Type: Objective Type/MCQ
  2. Mode of Exam: Computer Based Exam
  3. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Based on the performance of Paper I and Paper II, candidates will call for document verification. The candidate will have a chance to choose the department. After the Document verification process, Commission will release the final merit list on the basis of overall performance.

Paper-II will contain two passages. One for Hindi to English translation and another for English to Hindi translation. Paper has a question for an Essay that you have to write in Hindi and English both languages.

SSC JHT Result 2019

Staff Selection Commission will declare the result for each paper. SSC JHT Paper-I exam will be held on November 26, 2019. The candidate will be able to check his/her result from the official website. Candidates will need login credentials to check the result.
